“Sir, maine kal 3 ghante padha tha… lekin aaj kuch yaad hi nahi hai!”
If you have ever said this, relax. You are not alone.
As a teacher, I hear this from students of almost every class — whether they are studying Science, Commerce, Humanities, or any other subject.
And there is something important I want you to understand:
So, if you are a Class 12 CBSE student targeting 95+ in Physics, remember this:
In many cases, the problem is not your memory. The problem is the way you are studying.
1. Tum Padh Rahe Ho… Lekin Yaad Nahi Kar Rahe
Ye line thodi strange lagegi. Lekin reading aur remembering same cheez nahi hai.
Tumne ek chapter 2 baar padha. Ab jab book kholte ho, sab familiar lagta hai. Tum sochte ho: “Haan, ye toh mujhe aata hai.”
Book band karo… aur suddenly: “Blank.”
Kyuki tumhara brain information ko recognise kar raha tha. Lekin tumne us information ko recall nahi kiya. Exam mein book saamne nahi hoti. Isliye exam ke liye sirf padhna enough nahi hai. Book band karke yaad karna bhi practise karna padega.
2. Ek Simple Experiment Karo 👇
Abhi koi bhi topic choose karo.
5 minute padho
Book band karo.
Ek blank page par likho: “Maine abhi kya padha?”
Jo yaad hai, likho — formula, definition, concept, diagram, example… kuch bhi.
Ab book kholo aur compare karo.
WHAT YOU'LL DISCOVER
Tumhe khud pata chal jayega ki tumne kitna actually yaad kiya tha.
Ye hai Active Recall.
3. Sirf Highlight Karne Se Yaad Nahi Hota 😅
Students ki favourite activity: yellow highlighter, pink highlighter, green highlighter… pura chapter rainbow ban gaya. 😂
Aur student khush: “Notes toh mast ban gaye!”
Lekin highlight karna = revision nahi. Notes banana = learning nahi.
Learning tab hoti hai jab tum information ko samajhte ho, recall karte ho aur use karte ho.
4. Ek Baar Padhkar Aage Mat Badho
Common pattern: Monday — chapter padha. Tuesday — new chapter. Wednesday — new chapter. Two weeks later: “Ye chapter toh padha tha… but kuch yaad nahi aa raha.” 😭
Normal hai. Brain ko revision chahiye.
A simple revision rhythm:
Exact days fixed nahi hain. Principle simple hai: Don't wait until you forget everything before revising.
5. “Mujhe Sab Samajh Aata Hai, But Questions Nahi Bante!”
Ye line Physics aur Maths students se bahut sunta hoon.
Tumne solution dekha. Tumhe laga: “Easy hai!” Phir question khud solve karne baithe… “Ye kaise hoga?” 🥲
Because solution dekhna aur khud solution banana alag skills hain.
Isliye question solve karte waqt pehle khud try karo. Galat ho gaya? Good. Ab tumhe pata hai problem kahan hai.
6. Kisi Ko Padhakar Dekho
Ye mera favourite method hai. ❤️
Jo topic padha hai, kisi aur ko samjhao — friend, sibling, parent, ya phir imaginary student. 😂
Imagine karo tum teacher ho.
Ab explain karo. Agar beech mein ruk gaye: Congratulations! Tumhe apna weak point mil gaya.
Book kholke dobara dekho. Phir explain karo.
Jab tum kisi concept ko simple language mein samjha sakte ho, tab usually tumhari understanding strong hoti hai.
7. “Meri Memory Weak Hai” — Ye Mat Decide Karo Itni Jaldi
Agar tum kuch bhool gaye, iska matlab ye nahi: “Meri memory weak hai.”
Pehle ye check karo:
- Kya maine concept samjha tha?
- Kya maine book band karke recall kiya?
- Kya maine revise kiya?
- Kya maine questions solve kiye?
- Kya maine khud ko test kiya?
- Kya main properly soya?
8. Phone Wala Part 😶📱
Tum padhne baithe. Phone side mein hai. Notification aaya: “Someone liked your story.”
Bas. Book gayi. Instagram khula. Phir YouTube. Phir WhatsApp. 😭
30 minutes later: “Aaj concentration hi nahi ho raha.”
Study karte waqt phone door rakho. Sirf 45–60 minutes ke liye. Try karke dekho.
9. Raat Bhar Padhna = Smart Study? 🌙
Exam ke ek din pehle: “Aaj toh poori raat padhunga!”
Coffee ready. Books ready. Motivation ready.
You will start recognising recurring concepts and question styles.
3:30 AM: “Kal exam hai ya aaj?”
Regular sleep sacrifice karna smart strategy nahi hai. Your brain needs rest. Learning ke baad proper sleep memory ko support karti hai.
“Late-night panic se better hai regular study.”
10. Ek Rule Yaad Rakho: “Close the Book”
Har topic ke baad ye karo:
READ → CLOSE → RECALL
Book band karo aur khud se poochho: “Mujhe kya yaad hai?”
Agar answer nahi aa raha… panic mat karo. Ab tumhe pata chal gaya ki kya revise karna hai.
11. Study Karne Ka Simple Formula
Agar tumhe ek simple method chahiye, ye follow karo:
Understand - Pehle concept samjho.
Recall - Book band karke yaad karo.
Apply - Question solve karo.
Revise - Kuch din baad dobara dekho.
Repeat - Phir wahi cycle.
12. Aur Haan… Bhoolna Normal Hai ❤️
Tum ek baar padhoge. Bhool jaoge. Dobara padhoge. Phir thoda bhoologe. Phir revise karoge. Dheere-dheere information strong hoti jayegi.
Isliye jab next time tumhe lage: “Mujhe kuch yaad nahi rehta.”
Tumhe apne aap ko useless bolne ki zaroorat nahi. Bas apna method improve karo.
Final Advice From a Teacher
Mere experience mein students aksar zyada padhne ki koshish karte hain, lekin better tareeke se padhne ki nahi.
Tumhe 10 baar chapter read karne ki zaroorat nahi.
- Ek baar properly samjho.
- Book band karo.
- Recall karo.
- Questions solve karo.
- Mistakes dekho.
- Kuch din baad wapas aao.
Kuch din baad wapas aao.
Wahi tumhari real preparation hai.
Remember This
READ → THINK → RECALL → APPLY → REVISE
Don't chase longer study hours. Chase better learning.
Aur dheere-dheere tum notice karoge…
